Manchester United were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw as Ruben Amorim continues unbeaten run after conceding 2 early goals in the second half from Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolò Savona.

The away team were off to the better start with Benjamin Sesko coming close to converting at the near post with a ball from Bryan Mbeumo.

United were first to strike first with Brazilian Casemiro scoring from a Bruno Fernandes set piece, which was subject to fierce criticism which saw the Forest fans claiming the ball was still in play while referee Darren England pointed to the corner flag.

Casemiro’s goal today saw him score against Forest for the third time which is the joint most he has scored against fellow English team Chelsea.

Shortly after Nicolò Savona after another cross which in the end turn into quite a scrappy goal as Diogo Dalot was caught napping and failed to clear the ball as Savona was clean through on goal before converting to put Forest 2-1 up.

Ruben Amorim’s first change came at LWB which saw Diogo Dalot replaced by Patrick Dorgu. On the hour Bruno Fernandes had a shot which clipped the post with Casemiro failing to capitalise on the loose ball.

Amad then came up clutch and converted after Forest cleared the ball before the Ivorian winger struck a fine finish past Matz Sels, with Amad again in one goal but had the ball cleared off the line after a brilliant block from Brazilian centre back Murillo.

Ruben Amorim in his post match interview claimed that the mindset of his Manchester United players has changed “my feeling is that the players tried, really tried. They tried during the week and they tried today.

“In the past, if we had this kind of bad five minutes and we suffered two goals, we didn’t recover. Today is a different feeling.”

“We have a big opportunity to win in the end, but my feeling is we dropped two points here and we should have done better.”

Sean Dyche was critical of VAR after conceding a controversial corner kick for the second game in a row. “It’s not inconclusive,” said a frustrated Dyche when asked about the incident. “I’ve seen it back. Apparently today, the assistant referee can see 78 yards away. It’s got to change. That’s two in a week. Two decisions that are not right have gone against us in a week.”

“Yes, of course, we then have to deal with the situation which we didn’t do as well. But it is tough when there’s a lot of noise about corners at this club and then they give corners that aren’t corners.”

“We had one last week, one this week. It’s very tough on the team to take decisions like that. We talk about the margins in football, we talk about VAR, why’s it not brought in?

Sean Dyche.

“Last week, really poor decision, cross, goes in. This week, really poor decision, cross, goes in. Well get VAR on it then because it takes eight seconds to go ‘it’s in’ or ‘it’s out’.”
The result leaves United in 6th place on 17pts with United retuning to London next week to face Tottenham Hotspur.
For Nottingham Forest the result leaves them in the relegation zone in 6pts with them set to face Leeds United who lost 3-0 to Brighton on Saturday at the Amex Stadium.
