United’s poor away form continues, which has been the story of their season so far. United dropped two crucial points against Spurs in a 2-2 draw, and that makes it eight games without beating Spurs. A Spurs team missing most of their key players, and yet United failed to capitalize on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Game Review<\/strong>
United took the lead through Mbeumo with a header in the 30th minute, before Spurs came back to equalize through Tel. United had the big chance to respond through Sesko, who was poor in his control and decision making. He missed a great opportunity and was later subbed off injured, leaving United with 10 men for the last 10 minutes of the game. Spurs then took the lead through Richarlison, but De Ligt was able to scrape a point back for United with a late header.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amorim’s Substitutions and Squad Issues<\/strong>
Cunha and Sesko coming in have not been impressive since joining, and Sesko in particular doesn’t seem to fit into Amorim’s game structure well. He’s always been a potential signing, which shows United board’s lack of ambition, signing another young striker with potential into a struggling team as opposed to opting for a proven forward with a track record of instant impact and goal assurance. United is making the same mistake again that they made with Hojlund. Back then, they missed out on Kane and went for potential instead of proven quality. It didn’t work out, and it seems they’re going down that same path again with Sesko. Time will tell if this decision pays off.
Dalot was poor again and contributed nothing to the game. Casemiro going off due to some issues and being replaced by Ugarte showed why Casemiro is so important for this United team. Ugarte’s poor performance continued, he was really bad. Overall, Amorim’s substitutions might have cost United the game, but you can’t blame him too much because he’s working with what he has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Amorim Said After the Match<\/strong>
Amorim was clear that United should have won the game. He said the issues with Casemiro and Maguire coming off were due to the players having problems during the match. He also mentioned that a draw is a slightly positive result and praised the team’s mentality for getting a point even when down to 10 men. According to him, it’s better to draw than to lose, and he said the team still has a lot to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Thoughts<\/strong>
The draw feels like a loss to United fans and probably to Amorim as well. But it’s now five games without losing, which is a positive. However, their poor away form still continues, and their curse against Spurs continues too.
